Education Session：「直腸癌術後療法の副作用に対するマネジメント」の演者 Bruce D. Minsky 氏に聞く
大腸癌に対する治療は近年飛躍的な進歩を遂げた。一方で，治療に伴うさまざまな副作用に対するマネジメントは重要な課題である。Education Session「大腸癌治療における副作用マネジメント」ではBruce D. Minsky氏（シカゴ大学）が「直腸癌術後療法の副作用マネジメント」について講演したほか，「オキサリプラチンによる神経障害」，「大腸癌の分子標的治療薬に特異的な皮膚症状」が演目となった。そこで，セッション終了後，Minsky氏にセッション全体のポイントについて話を聞いた。（平井佐知）

Sure. I think certainly we’ve seen great strides in terms of our benefits of therapy in colorectal cancer, but sometimes what we don’t do is and we don’t pay enough attention to the side effects associated with those benefits. I think what we learned in our three sessions are that in terms of radiation side effects, there are a number of technical ways that we can reduce those, and also ways to treat them. In terms of skin or dermatological side effects, most commonly with some of the EGFR for inhibitors, there are various types of ways to either reduce dose for creams. And lastly at the last talk which focused on the side effects of oxaliplatin especially neuropathy, the data do suggest the calcium, magnesium, as well as giving people treatment breaks from the oxaliplatinum (oxaliplatin) may be a benefit.

My impression of this year’s ASCO. Well, you know, ASCO is a very large cancer meeting, and the impression is that each year gets larger and even more interesting. I think it shows many new developments which happened, but probably more importantly its opportunity for oncologist around the world, especially outside US, for all of us to meet exchange ideas and learn from one another.
